Adventure Learning Center

ISU Polk County Extension has worked to develop an innovative program called Challenge for Healthy Relationships that uses adventure-based education to explore relationship topics and promote inner personal skills and the development of positive relationships with peer, partners, and adults. Trained and professional staff works with each group through a sequence of ice-breakers, cooperative games, and problem solving initiatives. Together the group will process the activities around the relationship themes including: trust, communication, sexuality, and healthy choices.
The program can be brought to a group’s site or can be implemented at the Adventure Learning Center, a state-of-the-art ropes challenge course. Challenge for Healthy Relationships is designed to create a safe and encouraging atmosphere for all participants.
